As the cold sets in and basketball season starts, we’re going to be starting up our weekly blog, with its different subcategories, such as this one right here. We will be publishing each category once a week, each covering its own spectrum of the previous week in college basketball. So, with further ado, let’s get to it.
While their local NFL franchise isn’t doing too well, the Buffalo Bulls are taking home the first Team of the Week award here at Delphi Bracketology. Buffalo followed up their tournament upset of Arizona in March with an excellent start to the 2018-2019 season, jumping out to a 3-0 record that leads the MAC East. They also pulled out the biggest upset of the young season, upending #13 West Virginia on the road behind senior CJ Massinburg’s 43 point double-double, which led to Buffalo being ranked inside the top 25 for the first time in history.
Look ahead, Buffalo will have a few opportunities to prove themselves against major competition this season. Aside from the major victory over West Virginia, Buffalo will play consecutive contests on the road against #15 Syracuse and then #24 Marquette. This stretch will be difficult, but if they can come out with wins over these two programs, then Buffalo may have a chance at an at-large bid if they can’t win their conference championship.
